Quantum computer, which sounds like a very "big" term, has not actually entered people's lives, but if it is commercialized successfully, it will have an "unprecedented" epic impact on the world. In 2018, quantum computer technology is developing rapidly. If we follow the current development speed, it is expected that "practical" quantum computer will come on the scene in 2035. However, there are still many problems to be solved at this stage. Japan's "reputation" is leading the forefront of Asian science and technology, so let's talk about the development of Japan's "quantum computer" in depth! uuuuuuuuuu

Is a quantum computer a "fantasy computer"?

In fact, the concept of quantum computer is still more "mysterious" in many people's eyes. The authoritative explanation is "a physical device for storing and processing quantum information in high-speed mathematical and logical operations following the laws of quantum mechanics". The smallest intelligence units of traditional computers (the computers we use now, collectively referred to here as traditional computers) are 0 and 1, which we call "bits". Quantum computers use "quantum bits" as the basic unit of information processing. For example, if there is a 300-qubit quantum computer, that is to say, the 300-power superposition operation of 2 can be realized. This number is bigger than the 261-power atom that makes up the universe. It is not too bad to call it "astronomical number".

Quantum computer is the information processing of parallel operation in multiple coincidence states, and then the interference effect is used to obtain the answer. Therefore, if the number of bits of quantum computer increases by 1, the degree of parallelism will increase by 2 times, and if the number of quantum bits increases by N, the degree of parallelism will increase by 2 times. We are familiar with the traditional computer, which has 32 bits and 64 bits. It is expressed in computer language as "32 bits or 64 bits". When the number of bits is doubled, the degree of parallelism is doubled. The biggest difference between a quantum computer and a statistical computer is the relationship between the number of bits and the performance. The future role of quantum chemical simulation and quantum mechanical learning will be immeasurable. More specifically, in the fields of new drug development, new material design, artificial intelligence and so on, the use of commercial quantum computers will have overwhelming processing power.
