    In order to carry out special research on surface quality inspection of strip steel, a machine surface-based strip surface defect detection system is designed. The system hardware structure and software design are deeply analyzed and studied. Its hardware structure includes image sensor, high-speed CCD camera, light source design; software design includes image filtering denoising, defect feature extraction and selection, surface defect detection and identification. According to the comparison of the experimental results, the machine vision-based strip surface defect detection system designed in this paper detects the surface defects of the strip, and the precision of the fine measurement is higher than that of the traditional system. The design of this paper has high practicability and effectiveness.
