  Abstract: The continuous upgrading of international cooperation and the intensification of market reform require the continuous innovation of talent training, and the era of education 4.0 follows. In the era of smart education, the role of business English teachers should be changed from knowledge imparter to resource guide, from learning supervisor to learning analyst, from sole evaluator to scientific evaluator, and from soul engineer to smart educator. In this context, this paper analyzes the new challenges brought by education 4.0 to the role of business English teachers, and puts forward that teachers should change educational ideas, innovate practical ways, and improve teachers' professional development ability, so as to promote the modernization of business English education.
