    This article aims to analyze the contemporary historical moral education in universities under the background of big data, including its importance, challenges, and strategies. In the era of big data, historical moral education is of great significance in cultivating students' ideological and moral qualities, enhancing their critical thinking ability, shaping cultural identity, and promoting physical and mental health development. However, it faces challenges such as information explosion, declarative memory of knowledge, information security, and social change. Therefore, historical and moral education in universities needs to strengthen teachers' professional literacy, utilize big data technology to innovate teaching methods, focus on cultivating students' information literacy and critical thinking abilities, as well as interdisciplinary education and cooperation.
