  This article aims to explore the value, difficulties, and strategies of ideological and political education in applied universities in the information age. In the information age, ideological and political education in universities is not only crucial for the personal development of students, but also plays an important role in the stability and sustainable development of society. However, issues such as technological dependence, information overload, and increasingly diverse value challenges have also brought difficulties to ideological and political education. To address these challenges, it is necessary to actively utilize information technology, innovate teaching methods and content, and establish cooperative mechanisms. Only in this way can the role of ideological and political education be better played, and comprehensive talents with innovative ability, practical ability, and social responsibility be cultivated.
