• Abstract:

  This research report adopts a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, through offline group interviews and online surveys, taking the elderly group aged 50-80 in Tianhe District of Guangzhou City and the population in various regions of Guangdong Province as survey samples, from the perspective of innovative services for the elderly group and the innovative application of ChatGPT combined with virtual human. This paper investigates the ideas and needs of the elderly group for the innovative application of ChatGPT combined with VR virtual human. The results of this online survey show that, in general, 98% of the survey groups have known about AI virtual human, and 54% of the people accept the use of AI virtual human in life. Among them, appearance is the most attractive feature of AI virtual human, and the flexibility of action and expression is the part to be strengthened. On the other hand, 77% of people have heard of ChatGPT and the main channel for respondents to learn about ChatGPT is social media. ChatGPT's inability to contextualize questions was cited by most respondents as its biggest weakness. Qualitative offline interviews show that the needs of the elderly group are focused on "identity-specific virtual people", such as acting as deceased relatives. By collecting the photos or videos of the characters provided by the elderly, the virtual human system restores the portraits, and provides information such as character information and voice recording information to restore the customized "specific identity virtual human". This virtual human has independent identity and characteristics, and can be used to accompany the elderly, participate in entertainment and social interaction in real life, so as to bring people spiritual comfort.
