  • Abstract:

This study presents the development of the HIE-R1001, a high-accuracy, rapid automated hemagglutination (HA) titer determination system. The system leverages computer vision and image processing technologies to automate test readings, thereby eliminating the subjectivity of analysts. In HA tests, the system automatically assigns titer values to each sample and creates an archive of HA reaction plate images as raw data.

Compared to manual interpretation, the HIE-R1001 achieved a 95.8% concordance rate across 800 cases, with 99.75% of cases differing by no more than one titer value from manual judgments, demonstrating a high degree of consistency. Furthermore, the HIE-R1001 boasts extremely fast interpretation speeds, completing image capture, analysis, result return, and image and result storage in just 3 seconds, significantly enhancing analytical efficiency. This system not only reduces the need for visual inspection and misjudgments due to visual fatigue but also lowers labor costs and minimizes the risk of personnel exposure to hazardous test environments. Additionally, the system's capability to store experimental data and raw images facilitates traceability and enhances the operational speed of large-scale clinical testing.
