  • Abstract:

Objective: In order to effectively apply recycled concrete in practical scenarios, a CT scan based modeling of the micro pore structure and permeability simulation of recycled concrete was carried out from the perspective of permeability performance. Method: Recycled coarse aggregate was prepared using waste concrete, and different recycled concrete samples were prepared by replacing natural coarse aggregate in ratios of 0%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. After collecting CT images of the samples using high-end spiral CT equipment, the CT values of each substance in the samples were calculated and embedded into 3D visualization software. A numerical model of recycled concrete sample elements with a grid size of 5.4 × 105 was produced, and the permeability state of the model was simulated under a 1.2MPa permeability scenario by combining geometric order linear transfer elements. Result: When the replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate is 10%, the permeability of the concrete sample in the area away from the pores and surface is higher, while when the replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate is 20%, the permeability of the concrete sample in the area away from the pores and surface is lower. Conclusion: The permeability performance of recycled concrete models is influenced by the region and material, presenting an irregular layered circular structure. The formation of permeability differences between each layer will generate permeability stress inside the recycled concrete.
