  • Abstract:

This study presents a systematic reconstruction of a university physics experiment course guided by the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) philosophy. Benchmarked against the “high-order nature, innovativeness, and challenge level” (two properties and one degree) standards of China’s first-class undergraduate courses, and grounded in Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives, the course objectives, content, pedagogical model, and evaluation system were redesigned. Adopting a strategy of “virtual–real integration with emphasis on real experiments,” virtual simulation experiments were employed as a supplement to offline instruction. A classroom model of “concise lecturing + inquiry-based learning + in-class completion” was established, alongside a diversified, whole-process evaluation system to strengthen procedural training and ensure learning effectiveness. Two years of implementation (2023–2025) at a local application-oriented university demonstrate that this framework significantly enhances students’ experimental skills, scientific thinking, and innovation capabilities, offering a replicable pathway for peer institutions.
